WHAT YOU NEED TO GET AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL
OR VOTE “EARLY” IN-PERSON
1. You must be a Registered Voter. If you have voted in the Town of Richmond before – YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED. If not, you may register online at www.myvotewi.gov until Wednesday, October 14, 2020, or when voting in person.
2. Send a request for an absentee ballot to Town Clerk Barb Ceas:
a. BY Mail to: Barbara Ceas, W8776 Territorial Rd, Whitewater WI 53190. Include your printed name, address, signature, and a copy of your photo ID – if you have previously voted an absentee ballot, the photo ID is not necessary.
b. Via Email to: firstname.lastname@example.org . Include your name, address, and a copy of your photo ID – if you have previously voted an absentee ballot, the photo ID is not necessary.
DO NOT WAIT until the statutory deadline of Thursday, October 29 to send in your request! Because of possible delay in mail delivery, Clerk Ceas suggests mailing an absentee ballot request no later than Friday, October 16, and returning your ballot by mail no later than Friday, October 23. All ballots must be received by 8:00pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in order to be counted.
If you do not wish to mail in your absentee ballot, a locked Drop Box has been installed just around the corner to the north of the entrance to the Town Hall.
FOR IN-PERSON ABSENTEE (Early Voting) bring your Photo ID to the Town Hall, W9046 County Road A, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 27, Wednesday, October 28, or Thursday, October 29, 2020.
